The Mining Challenge is a free event for all members of Scouting in our County plus their families. It is of a 12km (7½ mile) walk following the Great Flat Lode around Carn Brea, Redruth and takes place on Sunday 15th July 2007. During the walk participants are asked to try their hand a different activities such as brass rubbing, making a St Piran’s Flag using safety pins and seed beads, making a key ring, etc. When a walker completes a Challenge they will receive a stamp in a booklet that they are given at the start. There are 8 Challenges in all and if a walker completes 6 they will receive a badge to sew on their uniform. All registered walkers will receive a certificate when they complete the walk. Anything a walker makes is theirs to keep.  This event will be extremely popular so please fill in the tear off slip below and return by the end of October.
