A Walk on the Wild Side
![]()
This is our letterbox course that we have put out for Winter 2007. It is based around White Tor on Dartmoor and consists of 20 boxes plus a Starter Stamp.
The course is designed to give you a pleasant walk with the added fun of looking for our boxes. Each box contains a stamp of either a wild mammal, bird, reptile or insect that could be found on the Moor 900 years ago. Also inside each box is a small notebook for finders to record their details.
IF ANYONE DOES COMPLETE THE ROUTE WE WILL RECORD THEIR NAMES IN OUR ROLL OF HONOUR
To and from the starting point the walk is roughly 6km long and will take most of a day to complete. Most of the boxes are plugged (hidden underground) but using the Grid References we give plus Bearings to outstanding viewpoints they can be found.
Copies of the route can be obtained from
Paul Smith
35 Treloweth Close, St Erth, Hayle, Cornwall TR27 6JR
Please enclose a cheque for £2:50 (made payable to 2nd Hayle Scout Group) and include a stamped addressed envelope and we will send you a copy of the starter stamp and route.
